ABOUT TRADERS HILL FARM

Founded in 2013, Traders Hill Farm in Nassau County, has created a sustainable food production enterprise utilizing aquaponics, which is the combination of aquaculture and hydroponics, to grow leafy greens. Traders Hill Farm has implemented innovative practices as well as Best Management Practices (BMPs) to ensure they positively impact the environment surrounding the farm’s property.

Some of the most effective BMPs implemented include water cycling, which uses 95% less water than traditional methods and prevents nutrient runoff.  By housing their growing units inside greenhouses, no chemicals, herbicides or fungicides are ever used, and they are able to improve yields by 200% due to vertical growing space.

Traders Hill Farm is active in the local community and has been a devoted partner to organizations such as Feeding Northeast Florida, Nassau County Schools, Boy Scouts, FFA and 4- H. Last year, they were recognized as the Nassau County Green Business of the Year and owners, Richard & Delores Blaudow, were recognized as the 2018 Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year.

Manager of Traders Hill Farm, Tracy Nazzaro, holds several active leadership roles. These include involvement in the Regional Community Institute as a Board Chair representative, Nassau County Economic Development Board, Jacksonville University Marine Science Advisory Board and in the CFO Leadership Council.

With their dedication to sustainability, Florida Farm Bureau is honored to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Ms. Tracy Nazzaro as well as the staff of Traders Hill Farm for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
