Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s CARES program recognizes farmers and ranchers who demonstrate exemplary efforts in protecting Florida’s natural resources.
Completed nomination forms are reviewed for effectiveness of natural resource protection as well as compliance with implemented environmental stewardship efforts. This is critical to ensure Florida Farm Bureau Federation recognizes each potential CARES recipient and their efforts to be a good environmental steward.
This online nomination submission can be used to nominate your own farm/ranch or that of a colleague.
Important Dates
The CARES nomination deadline has been extended and nominations will be accepted until Friday, June 13, 2025. Selected recipients will be notified no later than August 1, 2025. Send completed nominations via Formstack only.
Natural Resource Conservation Practices to be Considered
A. Water Quality and Water Conservation: Preserve or improve water quality, recharge and/ or reduce overall use within or adjacent to an agricultural operation
B. Land Conservation and Soil Health: Reduce and/ or prevent soil erosion while protecting natural areas and local habitats
C. Pesticide/ Nutrient Management: Use pesticides/ nutrients responsibly, maximizing benefits and minimizing potential adverse environmental effects
D. Waste Management/ Recycling: Reduce waste by recycling agricultural by- products and waste products on site.
