Suwannee CARES Celebration - Live Oak, FL

Since 2001, the Suwannee River Partnership, in cooperation with multiple agricultural organizations and agencies, has hosted the Suwannee CARES Celebration in Live Oak, Florida.  More than 600 families and community members gather to recognize farmers and ranchers from the 16 counties inside the Suwannee River Basin who demonstrate outstanding environmental stewardship.  Florida Farm Bureau’s CARES program greatly appreciates the more than 60 partners, including Nutrien, who come together to host this recognition event each year!  To learn more about this type of recognition event, contact CARES for more information.

Polk County CARES Farm Tour

Polk County Farm Bureau hosted an excellent CARES- themed farm tour this year where nearly 50 legislators, legislative staff and local government officials traveled around the county touring farms/ ranches of CARES recipients. Attendees toured Putnam Groves, The Story Companies, and Mosaic Sod. They also toured the local Extension office and listened to a presentation from the Florida Forest Service. While on each farm, presentations were made to showcase what the farm/ ranch produces and how Best Management Practices (BMPs) are implemented to protect local natural resources.
