Ronald Norris Farm

Ronald Norris Farm has been in operation since Ronald Norris acquired the farm in 1992. Prior to Norris farming on this land, his great-grandfather and father farmed as well. They have grown and harvested corn, chiwapa millet, grass seed, hay and cattle.

Norris farms in Columbia County and implements a highly effective conservation program. Through implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) on his operation, Norris is able to accomplish his goal of leaving the land better than he found it.

Norris effectively uses soil moisture probes to manage water with increased accuracy and allows less water to be used on the operation. Additionally, he uses a side dress fertilizer applicator that is capable of placing fertilizer near the row, which has led to a decrease in fertilizer use on his farm.

Florida Farm Bureau Federation is proud to award a 2021 CARES designation and sign to Ronald and Barbara Norris for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
