About Pittman Farms
Located in Columbia County, Pittman Farms started as a hundred-acre cattle operation with Mr. Pittman and his son, Clint Pittman. Since his father’s passing, Clint has grown the farm to nearly one thousand acres with commodities such as hay, grass seed, and cattle. Clint says he was raised to leave things better than how he found them, which is a lesson he has certainly held himself accountable to. By allocating 300 acres to be kept as a wooded area, he has demonstrated his commitment to preserving wildlife habitat and other natural resources. As another testament, he manages his pastures by acting against invasive growth and fostering space for favorable vegetation to grow. Cross fencing has allowed him to efficiently implement rotational grazing. This practice has aided in preventing soil erosion from taking place.
When not tending to his pastures, Mr. Pittman enjoys helping others within the livestock industry and participating in programs with his local UF/IFAS extension office.
The Florida Farm Bureau Federation is honored to award Clint Pittman, of Pittman Farms, as a 2023 CARES Award recipient for his outstanding environmental stewardship.
