Huckabee Farms
Huckabee Farms has been in business in Suwannee County since 2013. Where Alvin "Rusty" Huckabee and his wife, Nancy, own a cow-calf farm and produce hay.
Together, the Huckabees have implemented an effective conservation program to protect the native environment in and around the property remains intact.
On their family farm, the Huckabees maintain and plant native vegetation and grasses for their cattle, use safe alternatives to commercial fertilizer such as chicken litter, and routinely test their soils for nutrient content in order to protect the spring on their property from runoff.
In regards to leadership, the Huckabees are members of the Rocky Sink Baptist Church. Rusty also served as Broward County’s Supervisor for water management for 33 years before he retired to his family farm. During that time, he served on many boards, such as the Central Broward Drainage District as a commissioner.
The Florida Farm Bureau Federation is honored to award a 2022 CARES designation and sign to Rusty and Nancy Huckabee for their continued dedication to being exemplary environmental stewards.
