ABOUT BAYSIDE SOD, INC.
Bayside Sod, Inc. is a family operation that began in 1987 when Paul Bispham began growing St. Augustine and Zoysia turf grass on 300 acres of land. Today, Bayside Sod, Inc. maintains nearly 700 acres and grows seven different varieties of turf grass in Sarasota County. Since 2006, President, Tiffany Bailey, has worked on the family operation growing and diversifying the business. She and Paul, Jr. now own Bayside Sod, Inc. and together they work to accomplish their goals of environmental protection.
Since 2014, Best Management Practices (BMPs) have been implemented throughout their operation and staff spend time being trained to implement them as well. Some of the most effective practices implemented include installing soil moisture sensors to reduce water use and protect soil health.
Weather stations help identify optimal times for irrigation and nutrient applications. Swales and drainage ditches have been installed to prevent erosion. Buffers accommodate wildlife habitats and also help prevent runoff.
In regards to leadership involvement, Tiffany, Paul Jr., and Mark are all members of Pine Shores Presbyterian Church. Tiffany is also a member of Florida Farm Bureau. Bayside Sod, Inc. is a member of Turfgrass Producers of Florida, Florida Turfgrass Association, and Sarasota County Chamber of Commerce.
Florida Farm Bureau Federation is honored to award a 2019 CARES designation and sign to Bayside Sod, Inc. for their dedication in being outstanding environmental stewards.
